Come on in. I've got the kettle on!

After growing up in the California Bay Area, I returned to the Pacific Northwest, my beloved home, where I was born, to enjoy the rain that falls so much here. I love campfires, walking in crisp autumn leaves, and talking about anything and everything with the people in my acquaintance. As a storyteller, I desire that some may find a message of hope, and a source of comfort and courage, in the tales the Lord gives me.

As a Historical Romance writer, my novels depict stories of the downtrodden who rise out of the mire and find love during their journey. I delve into the social injustices and prejudices my characters endure while finding forbidden love that challenges the status quo in their communities. As an adoptee who has studied the history of adoption, my stories include orphans and those tossed aside, like my twice-orphaned leading lady in Fiona, who must fight against the social norms of the nineteenth century, overcome prejudices against her, and save her ranch.

I have been married to my husband and best friend, Deen, since March 1988. We have three grown and married children and six grandchildren. This Nana and Papa keep busy, playing with Legos™ and reading many-a-book to wide eyes and listening ears. We also play the "Pro-tag-ness" game (as the four-year-old calls it) and create stories that usually involve a conflict between a zebra, a horse, and a giraffe (including that save-the-monkey moment) that resolves at the end with everyone being friends after all. Oh, the stories the kids come up with!

I received my BA in English Language and Literature from Southern New Hampshire University in November 2021 and my MFA in Creative Writing from the same university in November 2023. Through my education, I've discovered an outlet for the stories that had not been earning their keep while taking up space in my imagination for many years. I desire to share my stories with the world and teach others how to find their path as an author.

I have been blessed with a full life as a wife, veteran home-school mom, Nana, teacher, advocate for underdogs, yarn crafter, passionate follower of Jesus, the Rescuer of my soul, and the author of my debut novel, Fiona.
